SEAT introduced the concept hatchback Leon, which received the designation Cristobal, named after the patron saint of the drivers of St. Christopher.
A special feature of the car was the built-in breathalyzer. It will block the engine if it detects a pair of alcohol in the exhaled air. True, it is unclear how this technology will work if the driver is not drunk, but passengers.
The prototype is equipped with five other security systems that combat the main causes of accidents:
- exceeding speed;
- driving in a state of intoxication.
The car is equipped with a personal assistant Drive-coach, which gives recommendations on the safest The system tracks the movements of the driver's eyes and can determine when he is hungry or wants to use the phone.
In the guardian angel mode, all 15 security systems are activated.
A black box is also available for SEAT Leon Cristobal, which collects data while driving and in case of an emergency sends them to the smartphone.
And for the parents of novice drivers SEAT developed the application Mentor. With it, you can monitor the speed of the machine and determine its location.
The company believes that if half of the cars on the roads were equipped with similar systems, the number of accidents decreased by 40%.
In Ukraine, SEAT Leon is in the TOP-20 of the most economical diesel cars. With a 1.6-liter engine, the hatchback consumes an average of 4 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.
